The book, narrated in third person is a dystopia, which tells about Alice and Santiago, who has just arrived in Portugal, in a time when books are prohibited. The work is divided into three parts, the first "Alice's Eyes" tells about Alice, a child who loves stories, living in Europe where books are prohibited. It is in this first part that she meets Santiago.

In the second part of the book “Por Outros Olhos” we have the past of Santiago, telling about when he was still living in Brazil and what took him to Portugal. The third and final part of the book "Back to Alice's Eyes" brings back the girl's vision and closes the book with excellence. Right away, what we noticed and what we need to highlight are the prefaces, written by guest authors, which are incredible and very well prepared.

The reading is very fluid in parts and also a little dragged in others, the part I liked the most was the second, I really like when the author brings the past into the book and that made me really like this part. It is really a declaration of love for the books, it shows the concern and affection that the author had in the writing of his story. In the times we are living in, the book becomes even more necessary and interesting.

I highly recommend reading it, even with its slower moments or a lot of description, everything fits perfectly and the story is beautiful!
