“Perhaps humanity is unlearning to learn”.

TO HAVE BOOKS IS A CRIME. REPORT IT!

Imagine a place where you can't have books, where such a thing is extremely forbidden; that's what we're going to have in this work. The book begins in Portugal, with Alice, a very smart and creative little girl, who loves stories more than anything, especially the ones her late grandmother told; her family doesn't understand her, she feels despised, a fish out of water in her own home.

Her life changes when her street gets a new resident, Santiago Pena, little does she know that finally someone will understand her passion for stories, so that neighbor becomes a friend of the family and receives the title "grandfather of letters" from Alice. We have the vision of Santiago, a mature man, who carries with him a notebook called Hilário, which contains a tragic story, involving years of imprisonment, injustice and twists.

the book is divided in three parts
➡️ Through Alice's eyes ➡️ Through other eyes ➡️ Back through Alice's eyes

“As on many occasions in history, some initially harmless ideas, taken to the extreme, brought about serious changes in Humanity.”

One word that defines this book is: NECESSARY. Several points in the story my heart warmed with incredible teachings that this book brought. Usually I make several theories for the ending, and it was no different in this work, I made several theories but none hit, it really is an impressive ending.
