Technology is used to decipher human attitudes and create human beings with the perfect genetics, those who no longer tell stories and are forbidden from any kind of reading. –

The book is narrated through the eyes of an adult and a child. It is divided into three parts, the past by Santiago, and the present and future by Alice. –

Alice is a young girl who is very fond of stories. He loved hearing those told by his grandmother. One day, when returning from school, he meets his new neighbor, Santiago, who has just arrived in Portugal. The two become great friends and he starts the girl great stories. –

Santiago has a mysterious past, and after years of imprisonment in Brazil, he returns to Portugal and discovers a secret library left by his friend and cellmate. –
– 💬 The story of this book is very impactful. A mix of suspense and adventure mixed with reflections on how books change people's lives.
The reading went very well and has some references to great classics of literature. The author knew how to create a whole scenario that makes the reader want to “devour” each page.
The end of the story is even more surprising.
It is a wonderful book that is worth reading.
