The blog Herdeira Literária published a review of the book “O Silêncio dos Livros”. Check it out below!

The Silence of the Books is a fascinating story about the future of a society where the literary world was forbidden.

The book is divided into three parts: through the eyes of Alice, a girl who loves books and the stories told in them, then by Hilário Pena and returning again to the future through Alice's eyes and, thus, we get to know the past and present of the characters in that story.

Alice is a curious, intelligent girl, who has animals as friends and who, unfortunately, does not receive any kind of affection from her family. She has a great fascination with books and misses the stories her grandmother used to tell her. Her family is always absorbed in other matters and pays little attention to her. The excessive use of technology also hinders this affective involvement and family relationships. Very similar to what we see today in our present, unfortunately.
We also have the story of Hilário, a man who was arrested and who during his imprisonment ends up meeting Antônio, who introduces him to his passion for books. Literature helps Hilário to understand himself.

The plot of the book is returning in a way that holds us in each chapter. The story is rich in detail and written in poetic form. It makes people's hearts melt, you know. The author writes fluidly on each page and leads us to think about the social deconstructions, values and principles that technology has fragmented. About how much science evolves, but the human being has been lost in futility.
